HOW KENNY WILL WORK WITH YOU.

Confidentiality. All information that is shared between you and The Training Edge or Bodies in Motion will remain strictly confidential. This is a policy we will not take lightly. A waiver must be signed at registration.

Consultations. Before any workout sessions occur, we will sit with you to gather and share information about how best we can get you the results you desire. This is how we get to know you and you know us. This process will involve filling out forms and questionnaires and signing release forms. This will determine how soon you start your training and if you need clearance from a medical or health professional. Your safety and well-being is important to us.

Screening. This will be done before training starts to pave the way for smooth programming and to rule out any possibilities of contraindicated conditions, e.g., heart problems. Your screening involves the filling out of medical history forms, physical activity readiness questionnaires, personal health forms and life style questionnaires.

Assessments. To safely and effectively plan your program, we will conduct a physical assessment and evaluation to determine and establish goals and objectives, and establish base line measurements. This information will also be used for comparative purposes at future assessments. The physical assessment involves the measuring of body fat percentage, skin fold measurements, circumference measurements, body weight, blood pressure, resting pulse/ heart rate and postural assessment.

Fitness Testing. Optional, this motivational tool can be used to establish base line fitness level and help to determine exercise intensity at the start of your training. Fitness testing is not a diagnostic exercise.

Training Sessions. Each training session will be designed base on the goals and objectives of the client and will focus on all the components of fitness. This is to ensure that your training will be balanced and well rounded.

Training Session Length. Each training session will be thirty minutes in length. Small group training sessions will be forty minutes. Full workout time will be approximately 45 minutes.

Training Session Type. Personal training sessions are done on a one on one basis. However, tandem or shared sessions are optional as well as small group training. Small groups are limited to three or four persons and tandem to two. These options are utilized based on personal preference and by those who like team workouts. Charges for training sessions will be done according to session type. Large group sessions are done in the Bodies In Motion program

Training Location. Training sessions will take place at the training edge’s private personal training studio, or at a mutually agreed upon training location (e.g. outdoor training, pool, etc). If a client wishes for a training session to be done in the privacy of their home, arrangements must be made in advance and at the convenience of the trainer and the client.

Making Appointments. Appointments can be made by booking time with your trainer in advance. This will ensure that you will receive appointed times for your workouts. Please notify your trainer if you will be changing training times or will be temporarily discontinuing your training.

Timeliness. To get the most out of your workouts, clients must be ready to exercise at the appointed time. Because appointments are scheduled before and after you, all sessions will start on time and end on time. We will appreciate if you arrive ten minutes early for your training session.

Lateness. If for any reason you will be late for a session, a message should be left on the trainer’s voice mail or on location of the training session. In the event that you are late and do not call, the session will end at the regular schedule time. If the trainer is late for the session, the session will be extended if possible. If the trainer is unable to make up the time, you will be granted a complimentary session at no additional cost. We want your full commitment. You have ours.

Cancellations. The training edge allows a period of six hours for cancellations. You will not be charged for sessions that you cancel with more than six hours notice. We will allow one late cancellation in a month. The full session fee will be charged to clients who cancel with less that six hours notice or did not show for the session. Being consistent is important to getting your desired goals and your trainer will sit and discuss any inconsistencies with you. In the event the trainer does not show for a session, you will be given an apology immediately and you will be awarded a complimentary session at our expense.

Rescheduling Appointments. If you would like to reschedule an appointment please do so within the same time as for cancellations (six hours). Late reschedules will be a charge at your expense. In any case we will try our best to accommodate your request. If the trainer reschedules you’re session with less than six hours notice, the session will be rescheduled at your convenience at no additional charge. We regard responsibility as a two way street.

Payments For Services. All training sessions MUST be paid for in advance and are non-refundable. Clients will be given an invoice for the amount due. Cash, cheque or credit card payments are made out to The Training Edge or Bodies In Motion; receipts should be kept for confirmation of payments. Prompt payments for training services will be very much appreciated. An expiration date applies to all prepaid Personal Training packages. The Training Edge allows a 1 week grace period for package completion. All prepaid Boot Camp sessions must be completed within the allotted training period. Prompt payments for training services will be very much appreciated.

Work Out Apparel. Wear comfortable exercise clothing. Personal preference is important in choosing exercise wear and we will respect your choices. We however suggest the following: Clean t-shirts, shorts, tops, track suits, long tights and sweats and a towel. Athletic shoes e.g., cross trainers, running shoes and most soft wears should be worn. No hard shoes or slippers allowed.

Client-Trainer Partnership. This training concept has your best interest at heart. Though you will have a primary trainer who you would have developed a bond with, if the trainer goes on holiday, gets injured or sick, or can’t do a session for any reason, your secondary trainer will take over training in his/her absence to ensure a consistent service is provided for you. This way your training will be always fresh and filled with variety and fun.

Trainer Responsibility. Our trainers will ensure that you are provided a safe and effective workout that meets your individual needs. We will operate always within our scope of practice as personal trainers and fitness professionals attending only to issues related to health and fitness. We will not hesitate to refer clients to appropriate health professionals where necessary.

Scope Of Practice. Personal trainers are “Health/fitness professionals, who use an individualized approach to assess, motivate, educate, and train clients regarding their health and fitness needs. They design safe and effective exercise programs and provide the guidance to help clients achieve their personal goals”. (Developed by the NSCA, National Strength and Conditioning Association Certification Commission).

Continuing Education. Our trainers have all received high level training and certification by the leading organizations in the fitness industry namely AFAA, NSCA, ACE, or ACSM. With continuing education, we constantly acquire and maintain a high level of competency in our profession. Our trainers are constantly acquiring the knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with a variety of populations including but not limited to seniors, youth, athletes, pre/post natal, and post injury clients.
